Door Supervisor (El Paso)

Pay: $60,000-$70,000

Shift: Monday-Friday | 6am-3pm

This position manages all activities of employees for the Doors department in the creation of commercial doors. Expectations include that the right products are being created on time, within budget, and with the proper amount of labor using key metrics to achieve success within the department.

Reports to: Operations Manager or Director

ESSENTIAL DUTIES + RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan and execute the production schedule, providing supervision and direction to production employees.
  • Allocate resources to ensure minimum downtime and completion of scheduled activities. 
  • Promote safety and compliance with all Company policies and procedures.
  • Supervise the day-to-day operations of the assigned department or shift.
  • Identify and develop key metrics to report on deliverables and revitalize current standard work procedures.
  • Assist with the preparation of work schedules and expedite workflow. 
  • Manage all work orders to ensure that production schedule is met, ensuring status updates are communicated and tracked.
  • Act as a technical troubleshooter as issues arise.
  • Assist in improvements within the assigned department to improve cost and efficiency.
  • Examine work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures. 
  • Provide feedback to management on how to standardize procedures to improve the efficiency of workers. 
  • Act as an example of appropriate workplace behavior to assist management to maintain harmony among workers and resolve grievances. Refer to Production/Operations Management and Human Resources for advice and consultation as needed.
  • Share and teach the cultural concepts of our overall business and instill positive thinking and initiative for growth amongst workers. 
  • Ensure Quality Control processes and verification checklists for cabinet and door production are followed by assigned employees.
  • Provide training and company updates to employees.
  • Provide weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports of improvements made within assigned department and/or shift.
  • Assist production employees in manufacturing processes as needed.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Manufacturing experience of 5 years or more.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a lead position.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Professional communication and demeanor at all times. Must be able to communicate to both management and staff clearly.  
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Honesty and integrity, ability to exercise good judgment.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word. 
  • A sense of urgency and a passion for customer and company satisfaction.
  • Regular attendance.
  • Good with math.
  • Able to read a tape measure.
  • Knowledge of different types of machines and tools used in them.
  • Alertness in detecting any deviation in the functioning of the machine. 
  • Ability to understand read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals in English.
  • Awareness about safety issues and alertness to avoid any mishap.
