Configuration Specialist (Tacoma, WA)

Pay: $20-25/hr 

Schedule: 7am-3:30pm

This position is responsible for designing Bill of Material (BOM) structures, defining manufactured goods models and configurations, and developing tools and processes to minimize design complexity. This support function includes facilitating the interface between order entry and production systems, investigation and resolution of issues relating to BOM accuracy, and maintaining production “build tag” and work center information flow. This role involves troubleshooting, resolving issues, generating reports, performing item maintenance, and supporting other teams within the company. This position requires a strong understanding of the company’s ERP system, good problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively with other teams.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Using design information to create models, configurations, and (BOM) within the company system.
  • Troubleshoot (BOM) and Sales Order Entry issues.
  • Determine the most effective approach to resolving issues.
  • Provide technical data/information to production and project management.
  • Generate Ad Hoc reports for business analysis regarding production and purchasing metrics.
  • Perform item maintenance and SKU creation within the company system.
  • Assist central purchasing and warranty teams with order requests.
  • Train peers onthe fundamentals of the ERP system and establish a basic level of understanding needed for success.
  • Other duties may be assigned, or responsibilities may change based on business needs.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Associate degree in a technical discipline is desired.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret customer drawings and specifications.
  • Must possess working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word. 
  • Technical knowledge of construction industry, construction of doors and cabinetry is highly desirable. 
  • Proven ability to work effectively both independently and in a team-based environment. 
  • Task and detail oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities. 
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Good written and professional verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to exercise good judgment. 
  • Regular attendance.
  • A sense of urgency and a passion for customer and company satisfaction.
  • Ability to understand read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals in English.

  • Sitting 6-8 hours per day.  There is the option to stand while working.

SAFETY EQUIPMENT

Frontier Door and Cabinet’s Safety Program and all established safety rules must be followed, and equipment used where required.  This will include safety glasses and hearing protection.  This position will also require the use of gloves, safety glasses, dust masks and at times a respirator.
