Logistics & Trucking Manager ($70-100k)

The Logistics & Trucking Manager, is in charge of a company’s distribution, movement and storage of its supplies. Reviewing budgets, processing shipments and building delivery routes for product and locations required FTL, LTL, inhouse shipments and/or contracted freight services.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES + RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitor and manage budgets associated with product being shipped by LTL and contract freight services.
  • Work hand in hand with local shipping and distribution department to determine most efficacious shipping option for our customer base.
  • Select carriers for transportation and negotiate rates and contracts with carriers.
  • Develop inhouse shipping operations for multiple locations
  • Respond to and resolve complaints and problems.
  • Keep up-to-date on shipping carriers, routes and rates and any changes to them.
  • Fleet coordination (management of all company vehicles, titles, tags, maintenance, etc.)
  • Act as supervisors by overseeing the entire supply chain distribution process.
  • Collaborate closely with product suppliers and clients to build strong and long-lasting relationships.
  • Work with product carriers to determine and negotiate shipping rates for materials.
  • Handle entire delivery process of products by scheduling both inbound and outbound shipments and constantly monitor them to make sure each product arrives on time.
  • Meet with department heads to determine which logistics improvements need to be made to increase productivity levels across the organization.

Education and training requirements

  • Education and training requirements
  • Bachelor’s or 2 year associates degree in business, logistics, operations engineering, supply chain management or similar degree areas (Degree is not a requirement).
  • 2 to 5 years of experience working in the logistics field. Experience in working more than one area of logistics, such as warehousing or transportation
  • Industry certifications, acquired and demonstrated knowledge of the entire supply chain process.
