Warranty Technician (Tacoma, WA)

Pay: $25-40/hr

Schedule: Mon-Fri 7 AM – 3:30 PM

We are seeking a skilled Warranty Technician to join our team full-time. This is a customer-facing role requiring excellent communication, independent problem-solving, and a professional presentation. You’ll work across a variety of installations, providing warranty-related service for commercial and interior door systems, cabinets, and architectural elements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Independently diagnose and resolve warranty service issues in the field.
  • Perform on-site inspections, adjustments, repairs, and replacements for a variety of installed products, including commercial doors and hardware (mechanical and electronic), electronic  access control systems with low-voltage troubleshooting, interior doors and frames, custom and modular cabinetry, and architectural millwork and metal features.
  • Accurately document service work completed, including materials used, time spent, and any follow-up needed.
  • Coordinate scheduling with customers and internal teams to ensure timely resolution of service
    requests.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with customers to explain issues, proposed solutions, and timeframes.
  • Ensure all work is performed to company standards and in compliance with jobsite safety protocols.
  • Maintain organization and inventory of tools, materials, and repair parts in your service vehicle.
  • Identify recurring issues and report trends or product quality concerns to supervisors.
  • Support field installation teams and project managers with service-related insight as needed.
  • Adhere to all safety policies, procedures, and use of proper PPE.
  • Maintain a clean, professional appearance and act as a positive representative of the company at all times.
  • Other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of one year experience in the construction industry, preferable with hands-on work involving doors, hardware, cabinetry, or related finish trades.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Strong communication and customer service skills.

  • Excellent troubleshooting and independent problem-solving abilities.

  • Proficient in the use of power tools, hand tools, and electronic diagnostic tools.

  •  Familiarity with commercial door hardware, access control systems, and cabinet installation.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, hardware schedules, and product specifications.

     

  • Must have own tools and reliable vehicle.

  • Valid driver’s license required.

  •  Ability and willingness to travel as needed, including potential overnight stays.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Standing approximately 8-10 hours, 5 days a week, depending on business need. May be required to work 6 days a week depending on business need.

  • The employee will regularly be twisting, bending, squatting, pushing, and moving. The employee will frequently lift and/or move 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.

SAFETY EQUIPMENT

Eclipse Construction’s Safety Program and all established safety rules must be followed, and equipment used where required. This will include safety glasses, safety shoes, and hearing protection. This position will also require the use of gloves, dust masks, a respirator, a hard hat, safety vest, and personal fall arrest equipment.
