Quality Assurance & Machine Set-Up (El Paso, TX)

Pay: $19.00 – 24.00 Per Hour

Frontier Door and Cabinet is seeking an experienced professional for our El Paso door shop. In this role, you will be pivotal in ensuring high-quality door production through precise machine setup, stringent quality assurance, and strict adherence to defined processes. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in door manufacturing—preferably in machining, although installation expertise is also valued—to enhance production efficiency and maintain exceptional quality standards. Bilingual proficiency is a must.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Machine Setup & Adjustment:
    • Set up and adjust the Norfield Magnum door machine according to production paperwork and engineering specifications.
    • Ensure all machine settings conform to defined process standards for optimal performance.
  • Quality Assurance:
    • Conduct thorough inspections of materials, dimensions, and finished doors to verify compliance with customer requirements, building codes, and internal quality benchmarks.
    • Identify any process deviations or quality issues and work proactively with supervisors to implement corrective actions.
  • Process Adherence & Improvement:
    • Follow established procedures meticulously during machine setup and production to ensure consistency and safety.
    • Document and report production data, quality issues, and process improvements in daily logs and production paperwork.
    • Participate in regular reviews and training sessions to reinforce adherence to defined processes and implement continuous improvements.
  • Troubleshooting & Maintenance:
    • Perform basic troubleshooting on mechanical or operational issues to minimize downtime.
    • Report equipment malfunctions or safety hazards promptly and assist in the implementation of corrective actions.
    • Team Collaboration & Communication:
    • Work closely with production, quality control, and engineering teams to maintain smooth operations and uphold quality standards.
    • Communicate any production or quality concerns promptly to ensure swift resolution.
    • Use bilingual skills to effectively communicate with team members and ensure clear understanding of instructions in both English and Spanish.
  • Work Environment & Safety:
    • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the production area, ensuring a safe and efficient work environment.
    • Adhere to all Frontier Door and Cabinet safety protocols, including the proper use of safety equipment.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of related experience or training in a manufacturing or industrial setting, with a focus on door production preferred.
  • Background in door machining is highly desirable; door installation experience is also acceptable.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Proficiency in basic mathematics and the ability to accurately read measurements using a tape measure.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality and process adherence.
  • Ability to interpret and follow technical documents, safety rules, operating instructions, and process manuals.
  • Excellent situational awareness to detect deviations in machine functioning or product quality.
  • Bilingual proficiency (English/Spanish) is required to effectively collaborate with a diverse workforce and ensure clear communication across all levels of the organization.
  • Effective communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

  • Frequent bending, squatting, and reaching required to manage production tasks effectively.

SAFETY EQUIPMENT

Frontier Door and Cabinet’s Safety Program and all established safety rules must be followed, and equipment used where required. This will include safety glasses, safety shoes, and hearing protection (when needed) while on the production floor.
