Procurement Assistant

This position is responsible to purchase materials per established procedures for production of wood cabinet and doors.

FLSA:  Non-Exempt

ESSENTIAL DUTIES + RESPONSIBILITIES

-Purchase materials based on company needs based on stock, inventory, projects and plans as well as the understanding of general sales and market trends
-Perform vendor research and selection to enhance profitability, reducing operating costs and boosting efficiency
-Maintaining cordial working relationships with vendors and supervising vendor activities
-Signing and reviewing purchasing agreements with vendors, monitoring their performance and renegotiating contracts
-Using quarterly and annual data to determine purchasing needs and performing inventory management
-Managing purchase orders, overseeing shipping schedules and maintaining purchase records
-Working with warehouse staff to compare deliveries with purchase orders to identify discrepancies
-Conducting ongoing market research to identify beneficial purchase agreements and potential vendors

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

-High school diploma or GED
-Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred
-1+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or other administrative roles

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

-Proficient in Microsoft Office tools
-Task and detail oriented with strong organizational skills
-Willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities
-Honesty and Integrity
-Ability to meet deadlines and milestones
-Good written and professional verbal communication skills
-Able to exercise good judgment
-Regular attendance
-A sense of urgency and a passion for customer and company satisfaction
-Ability to understand read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals in English
